Calloway Oil Company proudly supports 24 EZ Stop convenience stores and our other retail partners located in East Tennessee. EZ Stop family owned convenience stores are community centered and deliver on our promise of “Nice People. Good Stuff.” Every day EZ Stop offers exceptional fresh, local products, clean stores, and good friendly people to serve our community. EZ Stop Food Marts Inc. was founded in 1984. Tommy Hunt

EZ Stop Food Marts

Tommy Hunt started working with Calloway Oil Company and EZ Stop Food Marts in 1986, joining his father-in-law, Hugh Calloway, in the business. Tommy was named President of EZ Stop in 2005 and became President and CEO of both Calloway Oil Company and EZ Stop Food Marts in 2020.

Tommy is active in community organizations and is a member of the Maryville City Council since 2006. He has also served in several capacities for the Blount County Chamber: President in 2001, Transportation Chair 1997-2000, Vice President of Economic Development 1996, and served on the Board of Directors from 1991 to 2003. In addition, he is a past member of the University of Tennessee Alumni Association Board of Governors and served as Chairman of the Blount County 1101 Planning Committee. He currently serves on the Exxon Mobil National Branded Wholesaler Council, the Board of the Tennessee Fuel and Convenience Store Association and is a member of the University of Tennessee Political Action Committee.

Tommy and his wife, Carol, have three daughters, Julia Langston (husband Trenton and sons Hayes & Reid), Emily Bales (husband Elijah and son Tommy), and Laura Nix (husband Joe Nix).

EZ Stop Food Marts

Julia rejoined Calloway Oil Company and EZ Stop Food Marts on a full-time basis in 2020. She originally started working with her grandfather and father in the business during the summers in high school and college. She worked full-time one year after obtaining her undergraduate degree and before obtaining her Master in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 2010.  

Prior to returning to the family business, Julia managed the Kroger and H.T. Hackney accounts for Mars Wrigley Confectionery and led retail teams at CROSSMARK. Julia represents the fourth generation of family leadership at Calloway Oil Company and EZ Stop Food Marts and looks forward to continuing to grow and serve the communities in East Tennessee.

Julia loves traveling and spending time with her family. Julia and her husband, Trenton, have two sons, Hayes & Reid, and a hunting dog, Minni.

Trenton Langston

EZ Stop Food Marts

Trenton joined his father-in-law, Tommy, at Calloway Oil Company and EZ Stop Food Marts in 2020. He brought a broad spectrum of retail and consumer products experience to the family business. His previous roles include marketing, branding, supply chain management, and product development.

Trenton obtained his undergraduate degree and a Master of Arts in Management at Wake Forest University where he played baseball. Upon graduation, Trenton moved to Dallas to work as management trainee at CROSSMARK where he met Julia.

Trenton and his wife, Julia, have two sons, Hayes & Reid. In his free time, Trenton enjoys spending time with his family, going to football games, hunting with their dog, Minni, and enjoying the outdoors.

1945 station

1948

After returning from WWII, Hugh M. Calloway graduates from the University of Tennessee and begins his career with Phillips Petroleum Company.

 

1957

Hugh and Helen Calloway, along with her father, Bruford Everett (B.E.) Mills, found Calloway Oil Company in Maryville, Tennessee distributing Phillips products.

1958

The Calloway Oil bulk plant and the first three service stations open, representing an expenditure of $180,000.

 

1959

Calloway Oil, with 11 Phillips dealer accounts in Blount County, sells more gallons than the 14 Knoxville Phillips dealers.

1969

Calloway Oil affiliates with Sunoco after Phillips pulls out of the Knoxville market.

1989

By 1989, Calloway’s son and son-in-law have joined the business to accomodate the needs of his growing company.

1994

Calloway Oil affiliates with ExxonMobil and purchases several corporate Exxon sites from Exxon as it withdrew its corporate retail operations from the Knoxville market.

2018

Marty Calloway retires from the Tennessee State Underground Storage Tank Board after 18 years of service. He currently serves as the President of Tennessee Fuel Wholesalers & Convenience Stores and is instrumental in the success of numerous initiatives for the industry.

2020

Marty Calloway retires from the company after 31 years of service. Tommy’s daughter, Julia Hunt Langston, and her husband, Trenton, join the company representing the fourth generation of family leadership.

 

Today

After 36 Years of delivering on the initial promise made in 1984, EZ Stop continues to deliver a convenient friendly food and beverage offerings paired with premium fueling options.
